Stuffed healthy moong daal cheela

healthy and tempting snack

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 cup Moong dhuli daal
    • 2 tbsp Boiled green peas-
    • 2 tbsp Boiled corn kernels
    • 1 Tomato (finely chopped)
    • 4 tbsp Grated paneer
    • ½ inch piece Ginger
    • ¼ tsp Red chilli powder
    • ½ tsp Fennel powder
    • ½ tsp Jeera powder
    • ½ tsp Garam masala
    • ½ tsp Green coriander (chopped)
    • Chat masala
    • 1-2 tbsp Oil
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. For the stuffing:In a pan take ½ tsp oil and add tomato, sauté for a minute then add boiled peas and corn, now add all spices and cook on medium flame till the stuffing is little dry, and tomato properly cooked. Now add the chopped green coriander. Keep it aside to cool. 
    2. For the cheela:1)      Soak moong daal for 2 hrs in water. Then grind along with salt and ginger, to a fine paste.2)      Now heat a pan, put 2-3 drops of oil and pour some batter and make a cheela (this should not be very thin).3)      Now cook the cheela from both sides, but don’t make it brown.4)      Simmer the gas and now on one side put some filling along the diameter of the cheela, now sprinkle some grated paneer.5)      Now roll the cheela carefully. 6)      Serve hot with green chutney.

     TIP: a) To make it tastier you can add little green coriander chutney to the stuffing.  b) Also some grated cheese can be added to the stuffing.
