White fish curry

Fished cooked in white masala and yogurt

A good recipe with light spices for fish lovers.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 kg fish 
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • Salt as desried
    • 1 tsp cumin powder 
    • 1 tsp white pepper
    • 4 green chillies 
    • I tbsp ginger garlic paste 
    • 1 /2 cup yogurt
    • 2 onions fried  till golden brown 
    • 1 tbsp cashewnut powder 
    • Curry leaves 
    • 1 /2 tsp Methi dana 
    • Oil for cooking

    Directions

    1. Wash the fish thoroughly sprinkle salt   . 
    2. Wash the fish again before cooking to remove the extra salt. 
    3. Now grind the brown onions with yogurt . 
    4. In a pot heat oil and add the curry leaves and methi dana. 
    5. Now add the yogurt and onion mixture .add ginger garlic paste. 
    6. Stir it till the aroma rises then add salt , white pepper and 1/2 tsp black pepper .
    7. Mix gently and let the masala cook for a while then add the cashew  nut powder and mix well . 
    8. When the oil separates add the fish pieces and let the water dry on moderate heat . 
    9. Keep moving the pot in circle so that the curry is not burned . 
    10. Lastly add green chillies and 1/2 tsp of black pepper put on very low flame for 5 to 10 minutes. 
    11. Add a little water if necessary.  
    12. Goes well with both chawal and chapati.
