These Til Poli is specially prepared for Sankrant. Because til has a auspicious value for Makar Sankranti but can be prepare any time as its so simple to make.


  • 1 cup til(sesame seeds)
  • 1/2 cup jaggery(grated)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • salt
  • oil to shallow fry


  1. By adding pinch of salt make a dough of flour & cover it with damp cloth & keep aside
  2. Roast til so that they turns to golden brown
  3. allow to cool them & then add jaggary in it. then add netmeg, cardamom powder.
  4. Mix them properly.
  5. Divide the mixture in to 6-7 parts.
  6. Knead the dough & make 6-7 balls of it.
  7. Take 1 ball
  8. Make holes in the ball to fill sesame seed mixture.
  9. Now take the sides up and seal the ball.
  10. Do same for all the balls
  11. Roll out all the balls in to puri shape.
  12. Shallow fry them on hot griddle till they become crispy and golden brown.(alternatively ghee can be use for frying the til poli)
