Dry prawns kismuri (sukkile sungta kismuri)

seafood lovers u got to taste this...this prep can be eaten alone with plain hot white rice or can be used as a pickle too

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 cup dried prawns with head removed
    • 1-2 onions cut into small bits
    • 5-6 small garlic pods(more the better), whole garlic crushed along with skin
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric pd
    • 1 1/2 tsp chilli pd / according to taste
    • 1 tbsp tamarind pulp
    • 2 sprigs curry leaves
    • 3-4 tbsp coconut oil, if using as pickle then more oil to be used



    1. wash the dried prawns well with hot water and let dry 
    2. in pan add 1tbsp oil and roast the dried prawns till the color changes and is cuked. remove it and keep aside
    3. add another 2 tbsp oil in pan , add the crushed garlic cloves and when cuked add the onions and saute it till brown
    4. add in the curry leaves
    5. lower the flame and add the turmeric pd, chilli pd , saute well and then the tamarind pulp
    6. add the roasted prawns and saute and 1tbsp water and let cook , check for seasoning and add salt if necessary
    7. if u want to store it for longer duration use more of oil and less of water.
    8. gud when eaten along with white rice alone.
