Bohri Chicken

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1 chicken 1.5kg (pieces)
    • 2 tsp ginger/garlic/greenchilli paste
    • 1 tbs vinegar
    • 3 tbs curd
    • 1 cup ground almonds
    • 1 cup ketchup
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 4-5 cinnamon sticks
    • 7-8 black pepper
    • 8-9 chopped curry leaves
    • 4 garlic finely chopped
    • 4 tbs oil
    • 1 cup chicken stock
    • 1 cup chopped corriander
    • 1 cup chopped green onion(green part only)
    • piece of coal for smoke

    Directions

    1. Boil chicken in ginger garlic green chilli paste adding vinegar and 1 cup water.Let it cook on low heat for 1/2 hour till chicken is tender and 1 cup chicken stock is still remaining.
    2. Mix curd,ground almond, ketchup, red chilli powder, salt,black pepper, cinnamon sticks, curry leaves in a bowl and leave for 1/2 hour.
    3. Heat oil in a non stick pan.Add chopped garlic and fry for 15 seconds.Add mixture of curd and almond and fry for 2-3 minutes.Add chicken stock. Stir well.
    4. Add chicken pieces and stir gently till all pieces are well coated with mixture.Let it cook for at least 4-5 minutes till the gravy is thick and oil appears on top.
    5. Give smoke of coal for 10-15 minutes.
    6. Pour chicken in a dish and garnish with green onion and coriander.
    7. Serve hot with home made chappati or roghni nan.

    Thank you for appreciating my recipes. No u cannot use tomato paste coz ketchup has other ingredients besides tomato n it enhances the flavor of the dish...i 'll soon post recipe of biryani
