Semolina Cake

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 250 gms  Semolina,
    • 250 gms Sugar,
    • 250 gms eggs,(4 nos),
    • 4-5 tbs. pure ghee (made by melting-heating butter-unsalted),
    • 1 tsp vanilla essence,
    • 1/2 tsp elaichi powder(cardamom),
    • 2 pinch Saffron strands,
    • Optional-1/2 tsp cinnamon powder,nutmeg powder each.
    • 4 tbsp fresh milk.
    • 8 inch rectangular tray,or cup cake tray.

    Directions

    1. Beat eggs,
    2. Add vanilla, elaichi, saffron,and mix,
    3. Add semolina, sugar, ghee, mix very well, finally add milk.
    4. Let stand for thirty minutes.
    5. Grease cups, or line papers,
    6. Fill half the cups,
    7. BAKE in preheated oven-on low gas mark-110-140,
    8. or gas mark 2-3, untill it rises.
    9. Insert tip of a long knife in a cup-to check if done.

    Thanks! The quantity of an egg is enough for the cake to rise, so no baking powder is needed. well, u could add if you wish, ie-half teaspoon.
