Butter Chicken

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 whole chicken (boneless & cut into small pieces)
    • 1/2 packet of amul butter(big one)
    • tomato sauce 1 cup
    • 3 onions, 2 tomatoes
    • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger-greenchilli paste, salt to taste
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds,2 tbsp redchili powder,1 tbsp coriander powder,1tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 whole blackpepper,1/2 cinnamom stick, 2 cloves, 2cardmom
    • 1 cup cream or malai
    • 50 gm mava (optional)
    • red food colour
    • coriander for garnishing

    Directions

    1. In a pressure cooker, boil chicken adding garlic-ginger-green chilli paste, salt & water. Bring 1 whilte.
    2. In a pan take half of butter, add finely chopped onions & fry till golden brown. Take out the fried onions.
    3. In a mixture grinder, put the remaining butter, cream(malai), mava, tomato sauce, fried onions, chopped tomatoes & chicken stock (if needed). Grind all to make fine paste.
    4. Take the pan in (which we fried onions), add cumin seeds, cloves, cardmom, cinnamom stick, whole blackpepper, redchillipowder, corinder powder, turmeric powder, salt & cook on a low flame. Add the paste in it & cook till it gives out oil.
    5. Till that time add 1 drop of red food colour in water & add to the dish.After that put the boiled chicken pieces & cook for 5 min.
    6. Garnish with coriander. Serve hot with parathas.

    Very Good! I tried this dish and it came out really good. The only two things I would like to recommend is using only 1/4 packet of amul butter(big one) instead of 1/2 a packet, as the butter starts floating on top of the dish when it is ready and secondly I also added kasoori methi along with the chicken. I will be definitely making this dish again very soon. Thank you.

    hi shazya thnks for trying my recipe.The recipe become sweet thts bcoz may be u have changed the proportions which i gave. Follow the quantity which i had given.regds.

    Dear!!! thanks to you i have never ever kukd in my life but ur recipe was the first one which i tried at home very1 was excited but unfortunately it came out gud n delicious but it was too sweet may be coz of the tomato sauce which i added to it??? due to that my mum n bro didnt lyk at all can you please advise me on this......

    hi this is a really excellent recipe for butter chicken ,however i made mava 100 gm as against 50 gm ,it came out really well and everyone loved it . pls post some more recipes like this one.
