Chila is a north indian variation of Dosa except that this does not require fermentation. For a yummy breakfast, you can soak the rice and dal overnight.

  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • a  pinch baking soda
  • salt to taste
  • greenchillies 4-5
  • mint and coriander leaves
  • onion chopped (optional)

  1. Soak Rice and Moong dal overnight
  2. Grind rice, moong dal, green chiliies, mint and coriander leaves
  3. Add some water to make a  smooth paste
  4. Add soda, and salt  as required.
  5. Take a non stick  pan apply oil or butter
  6. Add ladle ful of this batter on the pan in the center and spread it evenly in form of Dosa.
  7. Serve each with yogurt or ketchup or Coriander chutney.
You can get creative with the shape and surprise your kids.

Hi! Zahabia, pls tell me do we need to keep the batter aside for some time so that it flumes up like dosa or immediately cook after grinding?
