Green Garden's Chicken Kofta

Ingredients


For Chicken Kofta:

  • 1 onion (thinly sliced)
  • One boiled potato (mashed)
  • 2 green chillies (mashed)
  • 3 cloves of Garlic  (mashed)
  • 500 gms chicken (boiled)
  • yoghurt 100 gms
  • salt as per taste
  • ½ tsp red chilly powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

For Gravy:

  • 3 Onions
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 500 g Spinach (Boiled)
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • Ginger (a small piece)
  • 10 Cashew nuts
  • ½ bowl Fresh Cream
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Chicken masala

Directions

  1. Shred the boiled chicken and mix it  with thinly sliced onion, chillies, mashed garlic, spices as well as yoghurt.
  2. Marinate it for at least 2 hrs.
  3. Take a pan and boil oil. Add potato in the mixture and make rolls. Deep fry the chicken koftas until brown in colour.
  4. For Gravy purpose, grind onions, tomatoes, Spinach, garlic, ginger and cashew nuts.
  5. Take a pan and heat with 4 teaspoons of oil. Add cumin seeds and the gravy mixture in it.
  6. Add spices and Fresh cream after 5 minutes. You have to saute it every 3 minutes.
  7. When the mixture seems dry, add half cup of water in it.
  8. Add the chicken kofta in the gravy and boil it for 5 minutes.
  9. Dash it with a teaspoon of lemon juice and garnish it with coriander leaves.
  10. You are ready to relish this new creative recipe, to tickle your tongue.

Meghnaji, its really unfortunate that your koftas fell apart. I believe the mashed potato was added during marination. Try it again, and just add mashed potato and 3 to 4 slices of bread before frying in boiling oil. I am sure it will not disappoint you. Thanks

I tried this recipe and it turned out to be a big mess. The koftas fell apart in the oil. I was making this dish for a get together dinner and at the last minute I had to throw all the koftas in garbage and make something else. What a waste of time and money! I would definitely not try this recipe again.
