Charishma Ramchandani of (?), Madam, I am writing this in good faith and trust that you will regard it as such. Although Gourmet is for enjoyment and satisfaction, the cost of anything is certainly related to ultimate joy. Except for a few aristocratic souls, we always talk of "Reasonable Pricing". You are aware of the modern trend of mentioning a calories table with every food recipe, in the health context. In the same vein, we should be conscious of the wealth context, that is, the cost of a suggested recipe. I do not know, from which affluent country you are writing. I am in India and personally lucky enough to afford your recipe preparation every fortnight. As we see on some TV Channels, eg. "Travel and Living", in some countries, even common people consume things like cheese and chocolate(Cocoa) in pound weight at every sitting. However, let us see how much your one pound odd cake material will cost in my country: 1 lb. Butter Rs 250/- 3 cups Sugar Rs 20/- 6 nos. Egg Rs 20/- 3½ cups Cocoa Powder Rs 500/- 1 cup Yoghurt(plain, non fat) Rs 10/- 2 tsps. Vanilla Extract --- 2 tsps. Baking Soda --- Adequately beautiful icing(Not mentioned) Rs 100/- ----------------- Total Rs 900/- One pound of a good, commercially available cake of similar taste would cost Rs 250 to 300, whatever the formulation. Madam, here baking containers are dusted with flour and not cocoa powder. Besides, the main ingredient in a cake is flour, which is missing from your list and has a passing mention as a minor additive in comparison with Cocoa, in the directions. I believe that khanakhazana.com are operating in a non-extraordinary country and are doing a noble job of providing the opportunity for Net Publishing of sensible food preparations, for making at home. Prior to noticing your cake recipe, I had never come across a too yummyyyyyy "Black Death" preparation - a quite appropriate, ghastly title. I am mailing honest comments as invited by you (of course, without experiencing the yummyyyyyyness) and trust that, since they do not contain any obscene and objectionable language, khanakhazana.com will publish them as enlightening. Regards.

plz give me recipe for the icing..

The look on the picture can only be achieved if you use dark cocoa powder and melted cooking chocolate.i think the picture is that of a black forest gateau.so if you make the cake and ice it like a black forest with cherries and alternating layers of fresh cream icing, you might get there.

rashida

u r cake looks almost like the black forest cake which is available in monginis n procedure for icing is also not given

I think this recipe is incomplete. The cake has also got icing and dressing on top of it - there is no mention about how to do that.
