Easy Carrot Fry

This is a really easy recipe to make when you run out of ideas.....this can be served hot with rice dal. See my recipe to learn to make dal.....!

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 2 carrots (diced into big cubes)
    • 3-4 tbsp oil
    • ½tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp chilli powder
    • 1½ tsp salt
    • ½ tsp turmeric powder
    • 1½ cup water
    • 6-7 tbsp of oil (for frying)
    • 1 tsp rye seeds


    1. In a pressure cooker, heat oil, onions, ginger garlic paste and sauté well.
    2. Now add all the spices, carrot and water and pressure cook for 20-25 minutes.
    3. In a kadai, heat oil and rye seeds and transfer the cooker contents into the kadai.
    4. Cook till all the extra water has evporated.
    5. Serve hot with rice and dal..




    Im step 2 you have to pressure cook the carrots for 10-15 minutes and NOT 20-25 minutes b'coz it may get over boiled....! pls note dis....
