Plums Sheera

sheera and kesari as for kesari,1/2cup rawa-3/4-1cup sugar is added.or sugar dominates in kesari but in maharashtrian sheera it is just same quantity of rawa or less than that.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup Rawa(Sooji)
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • 6 cashew nuts
    • 8 raisins
    • 1/2 tsp elaichi powder(optional)
    • 1 tbsp plums jam (grind smoothly 100 gms plums by removing seeds and boil the water and add 2 tbsp sugar and it will be thickened.switch off and set in the fridge.It will become like jam.
    • a pinch edible camphor

    Directions

    1. Heat the Kadai and add rawa with 1 tsp ghee and roast it till it changes to light brown.Allow it to cool for sometime.
    2. Grind smoothly 100 gms plums by removing seeds & boil the water and add 2 tbsp sugar and it will be thickened.switch off and set in the fridge.It will become like jam.
    3. In the kadai.Pour water and milk.Cook on medium flame.
    4. When it starts boiling,add rawa and it start becoming thick,now stir well or with the potato masher stir so that no lumps will be formed.
    5. When it is half cooked add sugar and mix well.Add 1 tbsp ghee.
    6. It doesn't stick to the sides of kadai,means its cooked.add plums jam,elaichi powder,edible camphor and mix it.
    7. Switch off the flame.
    8. Heat ghee and roast cashewnuts and raisins and add to the sheera.
    9. Plums sheera is ready.

    Note:If u want pinkish colour,can add food colour.Can replace plums with pineapple cubes and use pineapple essence and food colour or can use mango pulp pieces.
