Carrot Raita

Cool & healthy raita --perfect with spicy rice.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup plain yogurt
    • 1 tsp jeera powder freshly ground
    • 1/2 tsp blank pepper powder frshly ground
    • salt to taste
    • 3 to 4 pinches of sugar.
    • 2 carrots - finely grated

    Directions

    1. Beat yogurt to a smooth consistency.
    2. Add salt, sugar, black pepper powder & 1/2 tsp jeera powder
    3. Add grated carrots.
    4. Mix well. Sprinkle the remaining jeera powder as garnish.
    5. Serve chilled with any spicy biryani.

    TIP: Grate the carrots just after the yougurt mixture is ready & add grated carrots immediately. Grated carrots turn brown after a couple of hours

    NOTE: You can prepare this 2 hours before consummption, but tastes best fresh.
