Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 very small and tender bottle gourd(louki)
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • milk 2cups
    • nuts (optional) to garnish



    1. Peel, de-seed and grate louki.
    2. In a heavy bottomed pan ,heat ghee and add grated louki.
    3. Fry well till ghee floats on top and a nice smell comes.
    4. Add milk, and let it cook. Keep stirring in between to avoid burning.
    5. when its cooked,add sugar and keep mixing till all the water dries up and ghee floats on top.
    6. Add chopped cashews ,raisins,fried in ghee and mix well. serve hot or cold.
