Ingredients

3 pieces Cinnamon(5" sticks)
1 cup Cardamom
½ cup Cumin Seeds
½ cup Black Pepper
½ cup Cloves
½ cup Coriander Seeds(seeds)

Directions

This is a recipe for preparing a basic Garam Masala at home. You can prepare this in smaller portions and always have fresh masala for your recipes.
Fresh masala always yields a better flavor than stored ones.

1. Dry the ingredients in an oven.
2. Do not let them turn brown.
3. Remove the seeds from the cardamom pods.
4. Pound cinnamon sticks into smaller pieces.
5. Combine ingredients until they are well mixed and blend at high speed for 2-3 minutes until completely pulverized.
6. Store in a air-tight container.
