Rice Sandwich (Fried Idli)

A quick to make simple dish made with the batter of Rice & Urad Dal

Ingredients vegetarian 1 servings


    For the Batter
    • 1½ cup Rice Soaked overnight
    • ¾ cup Urad dal Soaked overnight
    • Salt to Test
    • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
    (The prepared batter of Dosa & Idli from the Indian grocery store can also be used.)
    • 1 Tbsp Butter
    • 1 Small Onion Chopped
    • 4 Green Chillies chopped
    • Tomato Ketchup

    Directions

    1. Make a smooth paste of the soaked Rice & Urad Dal in a mixer grinder adding salt & Oil.
    2. Heat the sandwich maker, unplug and put some butter in it.Sprinkle bit of chopped onion & Chillies onto it.
    3. Pour 3 tsp of the batter and Cover & plug the sandwich maker. keep it for 4-5 mins and its ready to be served.
    4. Garnish with Onions & Tomato ketchup.

    Something nice & diff I'd sure like to try this out. I can just imagine how tasty it will be with sambar & chutney.It's better then the long process of Dosas. Thanks so much
