Capsicum Masala

Spicy Bellpepper curry.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2-3 Green Capsicum (bell peppers)
    • 1 Onion (chopped)
    • 1 Tomato (chopped)
    • ½ cup Curd (Yogurt)
    • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
    • 2 tsp Ghee(Clarified butter
    • 4 tsp Vegetable oil
    • 1 tbsp Cashew-Coconut paste
    • 2 tsp Garam masala
    • 1 tsp Jeera powder (Cumin seeds)
    • 1/2 tsp Sugar
    • 2 Green chillies (slit lengthwise)
    • ½ tsp Turmeric
    • 1 tsp  Red chillie powder
    • 1 tbsp fresh cream
    •  Salt to taste
    •  Coriander (Cilantro) for garnishing

    Directions

    1. Cut capsicum into quarter inch pieces.
    2. Grind Cashewnut (5 nos) & Coconut (2 tbsp) together with little water to make a paste.
    3. Heat oil in a kadai & add onion, green chillies & ginger garlic paste. fry till the onions turn translucent.
    4. Add tomato & fry till they are soft & add Curd to it. Boil for a minute.
    5. Now add diced Capsicum to it. Mix well & boil for 2 mins.
    6. When Capsicum are half done, add Garam masala, Jeera powder, Red chilli powder, sugar, Turmeric & salt. Mix well & fry for 3 mins.
    7. Now add Water & Cashwe-Coconut paste. Mix well & boil for 2 mins. Consistency gets little thick. Can add more water to adjust it according to the taste.
    8. Remove from heat & add Ghee, Fresh cream & Coriander.
    9. Serve hot with Roti, Naan or Chapati.
