Potato Halwa

This is one of the uncommon desserts normally cooked in south Indian households. You can replace most of ghee with healthier vegetable oil but then it will not have the same flavor and taste as the original dish.

Ingredients


3 Potatoes (Large) 1 cup Sugar ½ cup ghee Dry nuts for garnishing

Directions

Boil potatoes, peel and mash them. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add mashed potatoes gradually. Continue stirring it at medium high heat. When potatoes start to change color into golden, add sugar and mix. You may use less or more amount of sugar to your taste. Allow sugar to incorporate completely while stirring. Remove from heat and add dry nuts. Serve Warm.
