Mushroom 65

Crisp and tasty, ideal as a tea-time snack

This is a nice snack which doubles up as a side dish too with sambhar rice, rasam and any mixed rice, Best when eaten hot.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 pack Button mushrooms
    • 1 ½ tbsp Rice flour
    • 1 ½ tbsp Chilli powder
    • small pinch of Turmeric powder
    • ¼ tbsp Cumin powder
    • 3 tbsp Besan flour
    • Curry leaves and coriander – a handful, finely chopped
    • ½ tbsp Garam masala
    • ½ tbsp Pepper powder
    • ¼ tbsp Ajinomoto ( optional)
    • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste (optional)
    • Salt – to taste
    • Oil for frying

    Directions

    1. Wash, dry and and cut the mushrooms into pieces
    2. Marinate the mushrooms with all the ingredients except for the oil for at least 15 minutes
    3. Heat oil and deep fry mushrooms in small batches like pakodas and drain on absorbent paper.
    4. Use kasmiri chilli powder for a bright red colour and serve hot with dhal and rice or plain with a cup of hot steaming tea!!!

    Hi ! Preethi ....Try Dis same recipe with Soya chunks . It goes well with Curd rice , Dhaal , Rasam nd Sambar sadam .
