Dahi vada

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1 small bowl urad dal
    • hing (pinch)
    • salt
    • oil to fry
    • jeera [powder ]
    • mirchi [powder]
    • 1/2 kg dahi
    • 4-5 tsp sugar
    • coriander leaves ( cut)

    Directions

    1. Soak urad dal in a bowl for 4 to 5 hrs .
    2. Remove water out of it  add hing & salt (little) to it &grind it by addigg little water to it.
    3. Heat oil in pan, now drop small vadas (ball size small) deep fry it till they become light golden.
    4. Remove it & add them in salted water.
    5. Take a bowl put dahi into it add sugar & mix it well (make it smooth).
    6. Now slightly press vadas to remove water out of it place it on a dish add dahi top of it freely.
    7. Now sprinkle little bit salt, mirchi pow, jeera pow & lastly coriander leaves .
    8. And finally serve it.

    When grinding the urad dal add some chopped ginger, a few curry leaves and a few peppercorns.
