Green Peas Masala

Simple gravy of green peas

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 cups Green Peas
    • 1 big Onion (finely chopped)
    • 1 big Tomato (finely chopped)
    • 3 tsp Vegetable Oil
    • 1 Green chilli (slit)
    • 1/2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
    • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera)
    • a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
    • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
    • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
    • 2-3 tbsp Heavy cream
    • 2 cups Water
    • 2 tbsp finely chopped Cilantro (Coriander leaves)
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. In a kadai, heat Oil. Add Cumin seeds & Hing.
    2. Add Onion, Green chillies and Ginger-garlic paste.
    3. Add Tomato & mix well. Add Water, Turmeric powder, Garam masala powder, Red chilli powder & Salt. Boil well for 3-4 mins.
    4. Add the Green peas & mix. Cover & cook till the peas are done.
    5. Now add the Heavy cream & mix well. Turn off the heat. Garnish with chopped Cilantro. Serve with Roti, plain rice, chapati, poori.
