Raw banana tikki

This is a quick and simple recipe loved by vegetarian and non vegetarian.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

  • 4 raw bananas boiled with skin till tender.
  • 1/2 c boiled Chana daal or 1 boiled potato( the choice is urs).
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint
  • 1/2 tsp half crushed coriander seeds
  • 1/4 tsp half crushed cumin seeds.
  • 2 half crushed red chilli (opt)
  • 1 tsp fresh garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • oil for shallow frying.


  1. Peel the bananas  and put in a food processor.
  2. Add dal or potato & all the spices,lemon juice & greens.
  3. process for 2 min or until u get a kebab texture.
  4. bring out in a bowl .
  5. Heat oil in a fry pan, take some  mashed banana mix and make shami kebab size tikkies.
  6. Fry in hot oil until both sides are golden.
  7. Remove from oil & serve with your choice of chutney and thin roti.
