Bread Bhaji

A quick preparation.!!!

Recipe by Sarah Patel of Navi Mumbai, IN

My mother used to make this super quick tiffin snack for us.. and we wanted this daily for our tiffin.. i hope u all will also like it. Hardly 10 minutes of cooking ... Enjoy.!

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 bread packet of 20 slices in it
    • ½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
    • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala
    • 1/2 tsp zeera powder
    • 2- 3 green chillies (finely chopped)
    • 4- 5 garlic flakes (finely chopped) Chilli garlic paste will also do
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (raai)
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder
    • Grounded peanuts (optional)
    • 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
    • 2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
    • one fist fresh CORIANDER (chopped)
    • 4- 5 tbsp of oil

    Directions

    1. Cut all the bread slices into small half inch squares. Keep them aside.
    2. Heat oil in pan or kadai.
    3. Add the mustard seeds (raai) when the oil heats.
    4. When the mustard seeds start to crackle, add the chopped oinions. Mix well, stir.
    5. When the onions are silver, add salt and chilles with garlic. Then, after a minute add the chopped tomatoes. Mix well.
    6. After 2 minutes when the tomatoes seem to turn soft, add all the masalas (garam, dhaniya, red chilli powder, turmeric, zeera) You can also add the grounded peanut.Mix well.
    7. After adding all the masalas, you will have a nice aroma in the kitchen. Add a little water if you find it to be too dry.
    8. Now add the small pieces of bread in this mixture and mix it real well, making sure that the onion tomato mixture is onto all the bread pieces.
    9. Turn off the gas burner and garnish with fresh chopped coriander.
