Channa-Methi Curry

Spicy curry made from Fenugreek seeds & Garbonzo beans

simple curry to go with rice or chapati

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 Cup boiled Chickpeas (Channa)
    • 1 chopped Tomato
    • 1 chopped Onion
    • 2 cloves  finely chopped Garlic
    • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds (methi)
    • 1 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera)
    • 2 Green chillies (slit lengthwise)
    • 1 tsp Red Chillie powder
    • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi powder
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tblsp Vegetable Oil
    • 1/2 cup Water

    Directions

    1. Heat a pan, add Oil. Add Garlic and Onion, saute until the Onion is translucent in colour.
    2. Add Fenugreek seeds and Cumin.
    3. Add the Tomato and mix well for few mins. Add Green chillies, Red chilli powder & Salt. Mix well for 3-4 mins.
    4. Add Chickpeas, Water & simmer for 20-25 mins. Add Kasuri Methi on top & serve hot with Chapati, Poori or steamed Rice.
