Methi ki Chutney

An all natural dish rich in nutrients

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 cup of Methi leaves (Fenugreek Leaves).
    • 4-5 cloves of Garlic
    • 3-4 medium size green chillies
    • 2 tbsp lime juice
    • 1 tsp Coriander (Cilantro) leaves
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Wash the Methi leaves and cut them (Avoid chopping them fine as it would reduce the Methi flavor).
    2. Cut the Garlic and the Coriander leaves.
    3. Chop the Green Chillies finely.
    4. Take a chutney bowl and add the above ingredients along with the lime juice and salt.
    5. To make the mixture consistent, apply ½ tsp of cooking oil to your hand and mix all of the above.
    6. Serve as a side dish with Roti-Sabji or use as a sabji with Bhakri (Flat bread made from Sorghum/White Millet/Rice flour).

    A nice chutney, but instead of fresh methi leaves you can soak a tablespoon of methi seeds overnight and use the same ingredients. Equally good and tasty. Add a dash of jaggery to the mixture.
