Paneer Cheese fritters

Fried Paneer, Mint & Cheese fritters

These fritters are very tasty but at the same time they are very heavy. Good to eat once in a while.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 cups fresh Paneer Pieces
    • 2 packets Amul Cheese slices
    • 1/2 cup Tomato Ketchup
    • 3/4 cup Besan
    • 1/4 cup Wheat Flour
    • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
    • Salt as per taste
    • Oil for frying
    For Marination:
    • 1/2 cup Plain Yoghurt (Curd)
    • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp Garam Masala.
    • 1/2 tsp Sugar
    • Salt to taste
    For Mint paste :
    • ½ cup Mint leaves
    • 2 tblsp fresh Cilantro (Coriander leaves)
    • 2-3 chopped Green chillies
    • 1 tsp Lemon juice.
    • Little Salt.

    Directions

    1. Cut the Paneer into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Cut Cheese slices to the exact length of the Paneer pieces.
    2. Mix all the ingredients of Marination together and put Paneer pieces in it. Gently mix well & keep aside for 1/2 hr.
    3. Grind Mint leaves, Cilantro, Green chillies, Lemon juice & Salt with as little water as possible. Remove & keep aside.
    4. Prepare a smooth & thick Besan batter. Add 1 tblsp of hot Oil to it. 
    5. Take a piece of the marinated Paneer. On that spread some Mint mixture. Place a cut Cheese piece. On top of it spread some tomato ketchup. Place another marinated Paneer piece over it. Press slightly. Keep all the pieces ready. Donot press too hard, Paneer piece will break.
    6. Heat oil in a kadai. Dip each assembled Paneer pieces in the batter and deep fry till Golden brown on a Medium heat.
