Ingredients non vegetarian 2 servings

  • 1 no. Fish, medium-sized pomfret
  • 1 no. Onion, chopped finely
  • 10 nos. Onion, small-sized chopped finely
  • 15 nos. Curry Leaf, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds, crushed
  • 2 tsps. Green Chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper, crushed pepper
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 no. Lemon, juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

Directions

  1. Clean the fish from the inside by giving a small cut under its stomach. The fish should be really fresh and wash it very well.
  2. Give small cuts on both the sides of the fish, 3 slits on one side but see that the fish remains whole.
  3. Mix the turmeric powder and lime juice together.
  4. Apply this on both the sides of the fish, inside out.
  5. Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes and then wash the fish in plenty of cold water thoroughly.
  6. Mix together all the ingredients except the oil.
  7. Now rub this mixture all over the fish in fairly good quantities, stuff some of this mixture inside the fish also.
  8. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  9. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the whole fish on medium heat till it is golden brown on both sides and is properly cooked.
  10. Serve hot with rice.
