Nungu sherbat

Nungu, a tamil word, means, a kernal of palmyra tree. In urdu, it is called as 'munjal'. It is famous in tamil nadu during summer.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 5 tender Nungu
    • 2 cups of milk
    • sugar to taste

    Directions

    This is super simple drink but not many people venture to make it. Here is how to do it and enjoy on a hot summer evening.

    1. Remove the shell like skin of Nungu.
    2. Mash it very well using your hand.
    3. Boil milk. Add sugar. Let it to cool.
    4. Add mashed nungu to the milk
    5. keep in refrigerator untill it becomes chill.
    6. Pour in to tall glass tumblers.
    7. serve chilled.

    truly anis...a great and refreshing sherbat in summer. If u add few drops of rose essence, it will be an added taste to it.

    nungu means toddy palm..a fruit with creme color skin & transparent flesh with sweet little juice inside.
