Chipotle Shrimp

A quick and tasty shrimp sidedish

This is a quick and easy dish of shrimp sauteed in a spicy sauce of butter, garlic, Tequila, and chipotle chiles. Serve over steamed rice

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 pound Shrimp
      (peeled and deveined)
    • ½ medium Onion (chopped)
    • 1 clove of Garlic
    • 1 Chipotle Pepper
    • ½ stick of Butter or Margarine
    • 6 oz Tomato puree
    • 1 shot of Tequila


    If you cannot find Chipotle Chilis in your super market, try substituting with any other mild flavored chili.


    1. Cook onion, garlic and chipotle in half the butter in a small skillet over medium heat until soft.
    2. Stir in tomato puree; season to taste with salt. Add some water and continue simmering
    3. Cook shrimp in remaining butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it turns pink and dries up. Increase heat and add Tequila. Mix thoroughly.
    4. Immediately stir in the sauce to combine.



    i want to know can i use rum instead of tequila


    instead of Tequila ,what else can be used?
