hi namita & foziakauser, here is another substitute for chakali maker. Take a piece of dough and roll it over the flat surface with your hands(use oil to grease your hand) so that it turns out to be in thin cylindrical shape. Now simply round it like chakali as shown in picture.

yes its very easy to make chakli without chakli maker. use a cotton cloth or mash. make a hole in between and make a stich like button hole. then put the material on the cloth and tie them with thread. and press it. as same like we make jalebi.
