Chestnuts in syrup

As I am very found of chestnuts I love having these energy babes. Many countries make them in slightly diff method but te results r more or less te same.If u don't like it too sweet just boil them for 1/2 an hour over low heat making sure the syrup does not thicken & stays transparent.

Ingredients

1/2 kg chestnuts removed from it's shells with a knife.
2 c sugar
2 c water
1 tbsp orange blossom water.

Directions

When taking the chestnuts out of their shells, one has to be careful not to break them up but keep them whole.
Blanch the chestnuts in some warm salt water until it becomes easy to remove the outer skin over the nuts.
In a pot combine sugar & water and bring to the boil.
Add in the chestnuts and boil over medium heat for 10 min.
Cover with a lid and leave over night.
Next morning do the same process over. Do this for 3 days.
When the syrup is thick & the nuts have absorbed most of the syrup add the Orange blossom water Cover and cool.
In individual bowls pour the nuts with little syrup and 2 Scoops of vanilla ice cream or fresh cream and serve individually.
