pepper chicken gravy

quick and easy recipe of tasty pepper chicken....


  • 300 g chicken
  • 2 tbsp black pepper seeds
  • 1 tbsp saunf(fennel seeds)
  • 1 tsp zeera(cumin seeds)
  • 1/4 cup of grated coconut
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1 tomato medium size
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 small stick of cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 cardamom
  • 2 green chili
  • cooking oil
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 - 2 tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste.


  1. Grind all the ingredients (except chicken, oil and lemon juice) into a fine paste.
  2. In a pressure cooker add the ground paste, chicken, salt, oil and required water.
  3. Pressure cook it for 2 to 3 whistles.
  4. After the pressure gets released, keep it in low flame and cook til the oil separates from the masalas or till done.
  5. You can keep the gravy thick or to desired consistency.
  6. Add lemon juice in the end.
  7. Serve hot with chapatis/ rotis/ parathas.
  8. You can change the quantity of the pepper and the green chillies as per ur taste.
