Thanx for Reminding me, groundnut {kaccha Sing}, can take 1/2 cup groundnut & it should not be crushed.....u can easily get from general store{ kaccha sing}....regarding modak,,, we need to make small balls of dough & flatten it with Roller Pin & Fill the Mixture {Beans,Potato} into that & give it a shape like Modak {ganpati prasad} to close it tightly.,it shold not be Fried .& then put this into Boil dal .. Believe me its really very tasty...u can also serve this to Guest

Dear Mona, It sounds confusing for (1) No quantity of groundnut is mentioned (2) Whether groundnut is to be crushed or not ? If yes, will it be crushed coarsly or smooth paste ? (3) Simply put the modak in daal is not understable.. Are they not to be fried like kachories ? (4) What is modak ?
