Ingredients


  • 2 cups sprouted moong
  • 6-8 onions, chopped finely (5 onions to saute the rest to garnish)
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 green chillies, chopped
  • 1" ginger, grated finely
  • 1 small bunch coriander, chopped finely
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp dhania powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt as per taste
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp sugar

Directions

  1. cook moong sprouts in a pressure cooker until 3 whistles
  2. in a pan add oil and  salt , sugar saute chopped onion until golden brown then add the green chillies, ginger and tomatoes and cook until soft
  3. add the turmeric powder, salt , chilli powder, dhania powder and cook until the raw smell is gone and gives good aroma
  4. then add the cooked sprouts and cook for 5 more mins then add the garam masala and bring it to boil again then add the coriander and turn off the stove
  5. then add the rest of the chopped onion , coriander and lime juice mix well and serve hot with chapathis....

u can make a similar dish by adding grated fresh coconut, roast the grated coconut along with the onions, turmeric powder, chiilipowder, garam masala powder, ginger and garlic and make a paste, add it to the cooked sprouts, add tomatoes, salt and boil.

i was always told that sprouts shud never b overcooked but the recipe says 3 whistles wont it loose its nutritve value
