Mushroom Chilly

An indo -chinese style cooked mushrooms

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 250 gms of Button Mushrooms
    • 1 capsicum
    • 2-3 green chillies( or 1 Tsp of chilly sauce)
    • 6-7 cloves of garlic
    • 1 pinch of ajinomoto
    • 1 tsp soya sauce
    • 1/2 tsp tomato ketchup
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp cornflour
    • 2 tsp oil


    1. Wash mushroom and cut into 2 halves
    2. Cut thin slice of capsicum
    3. Grind coarsely garlic in a food processor( dont make fine paste)
    4. Cut green chillies into thin slices
    5. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
    6. Add thin sliced capsicum
    7. Saute for 3-4 min Dont let it become soft
    8. Remove capsicum from pan
    9. Now add mushrooms and salt fry it till all water dries and it is cooked
    10. Remove mushrooms from pan
    11. Heat 1 tsp of oil in pan and high flame
    12. Add garlic in pan
    13. Stir continously dont let it become brown
    14. If you can smell garlic and it has changed very slight color add capsicum and green chillies
    15. Keep on stir frying this for 1 min
    16. Add mushrooms keep on stir frying
    17. Now add one and a half glass of water 
    18. In a cup Make thick paste of cornflour by adding little water to it with no lumps
    19. When water starts boiling add cornflour paste continously stirring so that no lumps are formed
    20. Add sauces,salt and ajinimoto keep on stirring
    21. Remove from heat when gravy gets the first boil
    22. Mushroom chilly is ready
    23. Serve hot with Fried rice or rotis

    Hi Hema Thanks a lot for your suggestion I will definitely try next time by adding schezwan sauce and more garlic paste

    hi.... it tastes great but if u add some more garlic paste and 1tbsp of schewan sauce it will taste awsome
