Spinach stuffed tomatoes

Baked dish, Low in cholestrol, Very less preparation time, Highly nutritious.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

  • 6 nos. Tomato
  • 1 no. Onion
  • ½ kg Spinach
  • 100 gms. Cheese, grated
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg, powdered
  • Butter to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • bunch Vegetable Oil, to saute


  1. Wash tomatoes and cut a little lid off the top of each one. Remove the flesh from the tomatoes, using a sharp spoon.
  2. Wash spinach and cook in lightly salted water for a few minutes, drain.
  3. Soak it in cold water then squeeze out and drain well.
  4. Gently fry diced onion and spinach in a little oil, then season with salt and pepper and nutmeg.
  5. Fill the hollowed-out tomatoes with the spinach mixture, sprinkle with grated cheese and melted butter, then bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for around 15 mins.



can we add potatoes to it and some gravy?


Do we need to remove the skin after baking or initially while doing the filling ?? Also shouldnt we add mashed potatoes and cheese also as filling.
