Channa

this is made in the style usually made for chats like masal puri or a samosa chat or a kachori chat

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 250gms Kabuli channa [white]
    • 10 Onions chopped
    • 4 tomatoes chopped
    • 1” ginger grated
    • 5/6 Green chillies finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp dhania powder
    • 1 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp Salt or as per taste
    • 1/4 tsp sugar
    • Coriander finely chopped
    • 3 tsp oil

    Directions

    1. Soak channa overnight & cook the next day in a pressure pan until it gives out 3 whistles.
    2. then in a mixer take about 4 tbs of the cooked channa & make a paste & keep it aside
    3. now in a pan add oil & 6 onions chopped, add sugar & salt.
    4. add the grated ginger & chopped g.chillies & fry the onion mixture until golden brown.
    5. add tomatoes & keep stirring until the tomatoes are pulpy & completely done
    6. add all the dry masala like turmeric powder,chilli powder, garam masala , dhania powder and mix well
    7. now add the channa paste & the whole cooked channa & mix well
    8. cook for 5 mins keep stirring every now & then & turn off the fire
    9. then garnish with the left out chopped onions & coriander mix well before serving.
