Masala papad

a very appetising starter.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 raw papad(lijjat papad)
    • 1 medium sized onion
    • 1 medium sized tomato
    • 1 green chilli
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp chat masala
    • lemon juice 1tsp

    Directions

    1. Roast papad in microwave for 1 minute.
    2. Fry roasted papad in oil and drain on a paper napkin
    3. In a bowl mix finely chopped onions,finely chopped tomatoes,finely chopped green chillis,coriander leaves, lemon juice and salt and mix.
    4. Place papad on a tray. Just before serving spread onion mixture andsprinkle chat masala and serve immediately or else the papads will turn soggy.
    5. You can omit chillis and add chilli powder instead if serving for kids.
    6. Its a hot favourite dish with my daughters.

    Cant we just directly fry the raw papads, is it necessary that we roast them?
