A very famous south indian preperation

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

  • 1 cup chana dal
  • 1 cup tuvar dal
  • 2 cups rice(raw rice)
  • a few curry leaves
  • coconut (grated) 1cup
  • red chillis 10 to 12
  • coriander leaves 1cup
  • salt to taste
  • l.g.powder 1pinch

Directions

  1. Soak rice and dals after washing for 45 minutes to a maximum of one hour.
  2. Grind all the ingredients to a coarse paste using water.
  3. The batter should be little thick. adding more water makes adai soft.
  4. When making adais, add some water to the batter, add chopped onions and make like dosas.
  5. Serve hot with coconut chutney or chutney powder
