Prawn Thokku

Prawns cooked in tomato and onion gravy

A simple and tasty non-veg dish

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 250 gm of Prawns
    • 4-5 medium sized onions
    • 4-5 medium sized tomatoes
    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp chilly powder
    • 1½ tsp of Coriander powder
    • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
    • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
    • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
    • ½ tsp Saunf
    • 10-12 Curry leaves
    • Freshly chopped coriander leaves
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Marinate the peeled, de veined and washed prawns in ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder.
    2. Heat oil in a pan.
    3. Splutter in the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and saunf.
    4. Add the finely chopped onions and saute till soft and pink.
    5. Add the curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and then the tomatoes.
    6. Add the chilly, coriander and turmeric powder.
    7. Add the prawns draining the excess water.
    8. Stir well and allow the prawns to cook in the gravy for 15-20 minutes on medium flame.
    9. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.

    hi this is mahua ganguly.... loved this recipe.. as wht happens with so many other gems...recipes that is... u know definitely tht u are going to try them out once u hv happened across thm...thnx i am frantically looking for the recipe of the prawn mousse ....cd u help me out?...tried to find out on khanapakana but to no avail
