Fried Arbi

Crispy arbi with spices

Arvi is also known as kachhu, pepchi in Hindi and Colocasia or Taro root in English and is very delicious.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 kg. Arbi (taro root)
    • pinch hing
    • 1/2 tsp ajwain
    • salt to taste
    • 1/2 tsp red chilli pd.
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala
    • 1/4 tsp haldi
    • 1/4 tsp amchoor pd.
    • oil for frying
    • corriander leaves for garnishing

    Directions

    1. Boil arbi with skin in pressure cooker.
    2. Peal arbi & flatten each of them with hands. Deep fry them .
    3. Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add hing & ajwain.
    4. Add fried arbi & all the spices. Cover the pan & cook on low flame for 5 min.
    5. Garnish with corriander & serve hot as a side dish.

    is this boiled arbi or fried?

    adding onion,ginger,garlic,tomatoe puree and curd would further help in enhancing thetaste

    adding 3 tbs of cream or 1/4 cup of milk after adding spices will enhance the taste.
