Though I love this authentic homemade family recipe, I have also found another Chicken 65 recipe that is outstanding. It is very easy and delicious. It is from a prepackaged masala called Ustad Banne Nawab. It is a great interpretation of the Hyderbadi style cuisine and I would highly recommend it if you are running low on time and need something quick and easy. We serve it with parathas and a plates of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. It is versitile in that you can make more gravy and have a curryish base or you can eat it dry. Great for making wraps also.

Very Good! I tried this recipe and it came out really good. The only changes I would like to recommend is adding 1 egg, 1/2 tsp. kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp. red chilli powder, 1 tbsp. corn starch, 1tbsp. all purpose flour and 1/2 tsp. salt to the chicken as marinade instead of whatever is mentioned in the recipe. I also added 1/2 tsp. salt in step 3 of the recipe. The chicken did not look anything like the picture. The buttermilk fell apart when added in step 4 of the recipe. The chicken looked more like pink chicken, maybe because of the white buttermilk + the red food color = pink. Overall, it did tasted good so I will definitely be making this dish again. Thank you!

Tara, thanks for the clarification. Anyway my chicken 65 turned out really good. I had added several serrano chilly peppers and it was hot and spicy. Thank you again.
Joseph, the recipe that you are describing sounds a bit more northern style chicken 65. They use little batter on their recipe. This is a south indian chicken 65 that revolves around the crispy feel of the battered chicken. I purposely used corn flour. It is a sticky batter, but it is important to create the consistency after frying that will allow the batter to absorb the flavors of the masala. Thanks for your post!
I think there is a mistake in the quantity of ingrediants. For 1 lb chicken 1 cub corn flour and 1 cup all purpose flour does not look right. I checked several other receipes and they only ask for 1 tbsp each of the flour. I have 2 lbs of chicken marinating in 2 tbsp of corn starch and 2 tbsp of all purpose flour and chili power and garlic ginger paste in the fridge. I put it in last night. I will be making it today. Imagine you put 1 cup corn flour ( i think the person meant corn starch) and 1 cup all purpose flour in 2 egg white. It would be a glob of sticky mess. I will let you all know how it turned out.

This recipe is absolutely my own. I have never seen ndtvcook nor do I know what that is. I enjoy cooking and I like to add my touches to a plate. If this recipe is similar to that of another recipe you have seen, I assure you that it is by sheer coincidence. I only modified a traditional family recipe to suit my tastebuds.
Sorry to say that you have taken this recie from ndtvcook Atleast mentioned that one
I will most definately add more chicken recipes. Shukriya! I have an excellent recipe for chicken curry...
