Soyabeans in gingery tomato sauce

somewhat similar to baked beans

Can be used as pizza topping, add boiled pasta or just eat with bread and aloo tikki

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup boiled soya beans 
    • 1/2 cup tomato puree
    • 1 big onion paste
    • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
    • 1 tsp red chilly pwd
    • 1 tbsp tomato catch up
    • 4 tsp oil
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 8 basil leaves + a sprig 
    • 1 inch ginger Julienne
    • salt to taste
    • water as required


    1. Soak soya beans for 8-10 hrs
    2. Boil in pressure cooker adding salt 
    3. Heat oil in a wok, add bay leaf, then onion + ginger paste.Saute till oil separates
    4. Add tomato puree + tomato catch up + red chilly pwd and cook for 5min
    5. Add soya beans and water and cook for 5 min
    6. Add basil leaves and check for salt.Remember soya is having salt + catch up also has salt
    7. Take out in a serving dish and garnish with ginger julienne and a sprig
