Kharjur-Anjur Halwa

Sweet dish made from Dry Dates & Figs

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 10 Dry Kharjura (dried Dates)
    • 4-5 Anjura (dried Figs)
    • 1/2 cup Sugar
    • 2 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
    • 1 cup Milk
    • a pinch of Cardamom powder (elaichi)
    • 2 tsp pieces of Pista & Almond

    Directions

    1. Make powders of Khajur & Anjur seperately.
    2. In a kadai, add Ghee. Fry Almond & pista. Remove. To this same ghee, add Khajur, Anjur powders & Sugar. Mix well on medium heat for 1-2 mins.
    3. Reduce heat to low. Add Milk, mix well & boil stirring constantly until all the milk is dried up. Add Cardamom powder. Mix.
    4. Add Pista & Almond pieces. Mix & serve hot, warm or cold.
