mixed dal burfi

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1/2 cup chana dal
    • 1/2 cup yellow moong dal
    • 1/2 cup mawa
    • 1 1/4 cups sugar
    • 5 tbsp desi ghee
    • 1tsp cardamon powder
    • chopped mixed dry fruits  for garnish
    • 1/4 cup water

    Directions

    1. soak both the dal for 3-4 hrs.
    2. drain the water and coarsely grind the dal or if u like u can make a fine paste of dals.
    3. heat ghee in a wok and add dals in the ghee.
    4. fry the dal so much  all he water evaporates and u will get a suji like flour of dals.
    5. now make a sugar syrup with 3 thread consistency.
    6. add dals flour and cardamon powder and mawa.
    7. mix properly.
    8. sift the mixture in a plate to set.
    9. garnish it with dry fruits .
    10. cut diamond shape burfi and serve

    I've tried mixed dal in many things but never for burfi, I'm sure it tastes nice. Thanks.
