Raw Banana (Vazhakka Milagu Pirati)Curry

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 2 Raw banana
    • 1 tbsp yellow split moong
    • 1 tsp peppercorns
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1/2 tsp urad dal
    • few,curry leaves
    • Salt,to taste
    • 1 tsp oil


    1. Wash the raw banana and peel the outer skin and remove it.
    2. Please apply oil in palm so that while peeling or chopping it won't stick.
    3. Chop them into small square.
    4. Crush the pepper in mortar and pestle or u can use the grounded pepper powder.
    5. Soak moong dal in warm water for half an hour.
    6. Drain the water after half an hour.
    7. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard,urad dal,moong dal and curry leaves.
    8. Add raw banana to it and sprinkle water.
    9. Close it with the lid.
    10. Open and stir it once or twice.Add pepper and salt.
    11. It will be cooked in 10 minutes.
    12. To see whether its cooked,just take one piece and press will press.Milagu pirati is ready.

    Note:Drained moongdal water can be used for making sambar or dal.
