Badham Keema Masala

Minced mutton cooked with spices and badham

u can also try Cashew Keema Masala also this way using cashewnuts for almonds.

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings


    • 400 gm keema(minced mutton)
    • 25 almonds(peeled,blanched)
    • 3 tbsp almond paste
    • 2 big onions- 1 pasted and 1 chopped fine
    • 4 tbsp tomato puree
    • 1 cup yoghurt
    • 2 tbsp ghee with 2 tsp refined oil
    • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tsp mint-coriander paste
    • 2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 cinnamon stick - crushed
    • 1 bay leaf-crushed
    • 2 green cardamoms,cloves each
    • 1 tsp fresh pepper powder
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 2 tsp salt
    • few coriander leaves

    Directions

    1. Take a pressure pan,heat ghee and oil.Add cloves,cardamoms,bay leaf,cinnamon sticks and the crushed pepper powder.
    2. Add onion paste,ginger-garlic paste,mint-coriander paste,red chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin seeds,turmeric powder and salt.Saute well till oil separates.
    3. Add mutton pieces,tomato puree,almond paste.Mix well and saute for 2 mins.
    4. Add garam masala,25 peeled and blanched almonds, yoghurt,few coriander leaves, onion paste washed water-1/2 cup,ginger-garlic paste washed water-1/2 cup,almond paste washed water-1/2 cup and mint-coriander paste washed water-1/2 cup.
    5. Cover the pressure pan and cook upto 5 whistle.Turn off the flame.
    6. Serve this tasty masala with rice,chapathi,biryani,pulav,idli etc,.

    Minced mutton should be shaped like patties(small gooseberry size keema flattened) and shallow-fried in dosa pan using 1 tbsp refined oil (for 2 mins per side) before adding this in Step3.
