Recipe by Anju Addanki of

This is one of my favorite dishes which I don't get in Harare. As I am originally from bombay now married and am in Zimbabwe, I miss bombay food.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

5 potatoes 1 onion 3 slices of bread All purpose flour (maida) for puris 3 green chilles 1/2 tsp chilli powder salt to taste 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp dhania powder 1/4 tsp jeera powder coriander leaves for garnishing lemon juice to taste

    Directions

    1. Boil the potatoes and mash them. Add a little salt. Dip the bread in water, squeeze out and mix it in the mashed potates.
    2. Make long rolls out of this mixture and deep fry them till brown and keep aside.
    3. Make puris with just maida and deep fry them also. Keep aside.
    4. Then take one puri put one potato roll in between the puri press the potato roll abit and then on top of that add chopped onions, garam masala, dhania podwer, green chillies , salt, chilli powder, chopped coriander and roll the puri and serve it.

It's better if we use pan cake instead of deep fried puri's, it give more taste nd make it a low calorie snacks.

the dish is nice,we can use chapathi made of maida(wheat is more healthy substitute)instead of poori for alow calorie snack.

This is tasty but very oily, and heavy as it is to be deep fried in puris.
