Spicy Butterbeans Gravy

Butterbeans are rich in protein.Very tasty dish to go with rice and sambar or curd, chapathi, Idli etc,. This dish needs 15 mins microwave-cooking time. Try at home and enjoy this dish.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 3 cups Butterbeans - peeled and cleaned
    • 1 big onion - finely chopped
    • 1 big tomato - finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste-fresh
    • 5 tsp ground masala (1 tbsp grated coconut with 1 tsp cumin seeds and 2 cinnamon sticks of medium size)
    • 1 tbsp refined oil
    • 1 1/2 cup water
    • few curry leaves
    • few coriander leaves


    1. Take a microwave bowl,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chopped onions,chopped tomatoes,ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves.Microwave this on high for 3 mins.
    2. Take the bowl out and add all the remaining ingredients and microwave this on high for 12-15 mins till the gravy becomes semi-dry.
    3. Serve this Spicy Butterbeans Gravy with Rice and sambar or Indian Breads or Idli.
