Easy beans fry

really easy and quick

this can be served in thali, or with rice....

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • ½ kg of beans
    • 4 tbsp oil
    • 1 medium sized onion (chopped)
    • 1 tomato (chopped)
    • 1 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • ½ tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 cups water
    • 5-6 curry leaves
    • oil for frying

    Directions

    1. In a cooker, heat oil, add onions and sauté till golden brown.
    2. Now add chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and then the tomatoand mix well.
    3. Now add the beans and the water and pressure cook for 15-20 minutes.
    4. In a kadai, put a considerable amount of oil and curry leaves.
    5. Now put the beans and fry till excess water has evaporated.
    6. The easy beans fry is ready to serve!!!!

    Try adding some cumin to the seasoning with the onion. Gives a good taste.

    I feel that 2 whistles of the pressure cooker are enough, 15-20 mins seems too long. One can also make this in a pan on a stove-top.
